Italy’s legendary center back Fabio Cannavaro wore this blue Italy jersey during a match against rivals Brazil on February 10th, 2009 at Emirates Stadium in London. Cannavaro captained the side and played the full 90 minutes in this match, a 2-0 win for the Brazilians. Italy had a goal called back for offsides just three minutes into the game before Elano scored for Brazil in the 12th minute. A goal from his Manchester City teammate Robinho sealed the 2-0 scoreline and another entry in this historic rivalry.
Cannavaro is one of Italy’s sporting icons, a rugged and dependable center back with 136 Italy caps and a CV that includes time spent at Parma, Napoli, Internazionale, Juventus, and Real Madrid. Cannavaro was named the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2006, becoming only the third defender to win the prestigious award. The current Guangzhou Evergrande manager captained Italy to the World Cup title in 2006, earning his 100th Italy cap the night of the final.
This offered Italy jersey is blue, with an Italy logo, a World Cup winners’ patch, and a Puma logo applied to the chest. Cannavaro’s number “5” is applied to the chest and back, while “CANNAVARO” is applied to the back shoulders in white. This jersey comes with a LOA from Marcos Moura Teixeira, an official with the Brazilian Football Confederation and a LOA from 100% Authentic.
