On Dec. 9, 2007, running back Brandon Jacobs rushed for 70 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles, helping the Giants qualify for the playoffs as a wildcard and ultimately win the Super Bowl. This Reebok white-with-red-lettering away jersey worn by Jacobs in that game is mesh and elastic. It has red tackle-twill “27” on the back and front, and on each sleeve. “Jacobs” is red tackle twill letters stitched to a white nameplate across the rear shoulders. Red stripes are appliqué around the shoulders. The red and white Reebok insignia is stitched on each shoulder between the stripes and “27.” The white, woven size-tag “07-44” is stitched on the inside back. The collar vertex bears an embroidered NFL shield superscripted with silver “EQUIPMENT.” A red, embroidered “NY” sits between the front “27” and the NFL shield. The material (100% polyester) and care instructions tag is stitched to the left-side inner seam. Evidence of heavy game use can be found with dirt and turf stains on shoulders and right-front chest, and discolorations on the shoulder stripes. Black ink stains can be found on both shoulders, the nameplate, at the rear hip, and on the rear “2.” Red, yellow and tan blemishes can be found above the front “27” and on the right rib cage. Three white blemishes can be found on the right shoulder “27.” The rear “7” is torn slightly. An LOA from game-worn jersey expert, Dave Miedema, accompanies this item as do two Getty Images’ photomatches showing Jacobs running against the Eagles during that 2007 game.
