The last amateur U.S. team to win an Olympic gold medal in men’s basketball was led by Indiana Hoosiers coach Bobby Knight at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This AMF Voit Official ball is signed in bold black Sharpie by all 16 members of the team including: NBA Hall of Famers, Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullin, as well as, Steve Alford, Vern Flemming, Tim McComick, Sam Perkins, Johnny Dawkins, Lancaster Gordon, Check Person, Jeff Turner, Jon Koncak, Leon Wood, Joe Kleine, Alvin Robertson and the late Wayman Tisdale. The ball comes with a full PSA/DNA LOA #T00189 and letter of provenance written by Alford’s father Sam who had his son gather the signatures of his teammates on the ball before entering the Olympic Village.
