Presented is a Joe Namath signature on a replica Vince Lombardi Trophy in a framed display and shadow box commemorating the New York Jets victory in Super Bowl III. “Broadway Joe” has signed his name in black marker on the silver plastic replica Lombardi Trophy, which is engraved with the NFL “shield” logo and the legend “VINCE LOMBARDI TROPHY” above the logo. Below the logo is engraved the legend “SUPER BOWL III AFC VS NFC New York Jets 16 Baltimore Colts 7 Miami Orange Bowl Miami, Florida January 12, 1969”.

The 21-inch trophy is capped with a silver plastic football, with the front third of the football extending beyond the clear plexiglass cover of the shadow box. The trophy has an approximately 1-inch chip in the center right front. The trophy (and two-thirds of the football atop the trophy) are displayed in a 6½ x 21 x 30-inch shadowbox with a green textured-paper matte on the interior edges and bottom background of the shadow box. The bottom background of the shadow box has an approximately 11-inch New York Jets logo in white and black set inside the matte, with a thin white border around the edge of the bottom background. The shadow box display has a silver metal frame and a cardboard box reinforced with black tape. Super Bowl III was the third American Football League–National Football League Championship Game in professional American football, and the first to officially bear the trademark name "Super Bowl".

Played on January 12, 1969, at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, the game is regarded as one of the greatest upsets in American football history. The 18-point underdog AFL champion New York Jets defeated the NFL champion Baltimore Colts, 16-7. Namath, the Jets flamboyant quarterback, famously made an appearance three days before the Super Bowl at the Miami Touchdown Club and personally guaranteed his team's victory. His team backed up his words by controlling most of the game, building a 16–0 lead by the fourth quarter off of a touchdown run by Matt Snell and three field goals by Jim Turner. Colts quarterback Earl Morrall threw three interceptions before being replaced by Johnny Unitas, who then led Baltimore to its only touchdown, during the last few minutes of the game. Namath, who completed 17 out of 28 passes for 206 yards, was named as the Super Bowl's most valuable player. This item comes with a STICKER ONLY from Steiner.
