Graded GD 2 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his debut-year appearance on Topps gum cards. Presented is an icon of the collecting hobby, in the form of the universally desired '52 Topps depiction of Mickey Mantle. This example reveals attractiveness in its all-important player image: the great slugger's likeness is bright and graphic elements (team logo and caption block) are clear. A small number of horizontal surface wrinkles can be discerned with difficulty on the obverse, but only the azure-blue background hue betrays observable traces of scuffing. The back is clean with unimpaired legibility, and the corners show wear consistent with the piece's assigned grade. This is a tempting and suitably intact piece that's ideal for the collector-grade 1952 Topps set which so many enthusiasts aspire to complete. Good condition.
