This certified $500 is from the Kansas City district and depicts President William McKinley. Discontinued in 1945, $500 notes are exceedingly rare as an estimated 70% of those printed were destroyed prior to 1945. Not intended for public circulation, these large notes were used for transactions between banks and large institutions. The
note shows good use with even staining to both sides. PCGS has graded this note a Very Fine 30 and is genuine U.S. Legal Tender.
