Derek Jeter made history on July 9th, 2011 when he collected his 3,000th career hit and joining that exclusive club. Jeter’s third-inning home run off of Tampa Bay’s David Price was the hit that earned The Captain his milestone hit. This was only the second time in baseball history that a player reached the 3,000-hit mark with a home run with Hall of Famer and former teammate Wade Boggs doing the honor in 1999. Offered here is a game used baseball from that historic day at Yankee Stadium on July 9th, 2011. This ball is an Official Major League Allan H. Selig ball that displays outstanding game use with w large black bat stain on the sweet spot. Jeter has signed his name on that black scuff on the sweet spot in blue pen and inscribed below his signature “3000 Hit 7-9-11”. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ645025) which authenticates that this ball was used during the July 9, 2011 game and that Jeter signed and inscribed this ball on July 27, 2011. Additionally, there is a COA from Steiner Sports for the signature and LOA from Steiner Sports (182561) for the game use.
