Led by basketball legends Bill Russell and Bob Cousy – and coached by Red Auerbach – the Boston Celtics were once again on top of the NBA during the 1960-61 season. They finished the regular season with a mark of 57-22. Russell averaged 16.9 points and 23.9 rebounds per game, while Cousy put up averages of 18.1 points and 7.7 assists per contest. It was Tom Heinsohn who led the team in scoring, with 21.3 PPG to go along with 9.9 rebounds. The Celtics won yet another title in their storied franchise history, defeating the St. Louis Hawks, four games to one, in the 1961 NBA Finals. Presented here is a 14K gold 1961 Boston Celtics NBA championship pendant and 14k gold chain, featuring a round diamond set on the team’s famed green shamrock logo. “BOSTON CELTICS 1961 WORLD CHAMPIONS” reads in relief work around the outer perimeter. The back of the pendant, which shows some slight wear, is marked “14-K KOCH”. This item weighs an approximate total of 7.2 grams with the chain.
