The 1952 New York Yankees finished two games ahead of the Cleveland Indians with a 95-59 record, capturing their 19th American League pennant. In a classic seven-game series, the Yankees knocked off their cross-town rival Brooklyn Dodgers to win their fourth consecutive World Series. Offered here is an Official American League William Harridge baseball that has been signed by 28 members of the 1952 World Series Champion Yankees from spring training. All of the signatures have been penned in blue ink (or otherwise noted) and include Hall of Famers Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra (signed in black pen) on the sweet spot. The north panel has the signatures of Charlie Silvera, Allie Reynolds, Bobby Hogue, Jim McDonald, Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle and Ralph Houk. Archie Wilson’s signatures is on the stamped sweet spot. The south panel has the signatures of Gil McDougald (slight bleeding), Gene Woodling, John Sain, Tom Morgan, Hank Bauer, Hall of Famer Johnny Mize and Vic Raschi. The west panel has the signatures of Jerry Coleman, Andy Carey, Ed Lopat, Jack Jensen, Joe Ostrowski and Bob Kusava. The east panel has the signatures of Stubby Overmire, Johnny Hopp, Spec Shea, Bob Cerv (signed “Robert Cerv”), Art Schallock and Jim Brideweser. The ball is slightly toned with some minor bleeding on the stampings, but is otherwise good condition. Additionally, this ball comes with original Reach box, which is in fair condition with an open top. This ball comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A25756).
