The Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis rumbled through the 2000 NFL season to record his fifth consecutive season with over 1,000 rushing yards. The Pittsburgh Steelers featured back rushed for 1,341 yards, including a season-high 134 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, for Bill Cowher’s Steelers. Bettis finished the 2000 season with 1,341 rushing yards for the Steelers. The former Notre Dame star ended his career with 13,662 rushing yards, the eighth highest figure of all time at the end of the 2019 regular season. Bettis retired after the 2005 NFL season, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2015.
