The hulking offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie wore this white Miami Hurricanes road jersey on October 13th, 2001 against the Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium. McKinnie, the 2001 Outland Trophy winner, blocked for Clinton Portis’ 17 carry, 122 rushing yard performance in Miami’s 49-27 win over the Seminoles. Miami finished the season undefeated, beating the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Rose Bowl to cap off one of college football’s most dominant campaigns. McKinnie was key to Miami’s success, finishing eighth in the Heisman race as an offensive lineman.
This offered Hurricanes road jersey is white, with McKinnie’s number “78” printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in green and orange numerals. “McKINNIE” is printed across the back shoulders in green lettering over a matching white nameplate. A Big East patch, a green Nike swoosh, a Miami logo, and a Rose Bowl Game patch are sewn on the chest. The sides of the jersey are accented with green, orange, and white. A size “52” tag with a handwritten “A” is sewn on the back inside collar. McKinnie has signed this jersey twice, on the upper right chest and below the nameplate on the back of the jersey. McKinnie inscribed “1-3-02 National Champs!” on the back of the jersey. The signatures and inscription have been written in black marker. This jersey comes with an RGU LOA photo matching the jersey to the October 13th game. There is also a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A25705) for the signature.
