Originating from the estate of longtime Uruguay goalkeeper Andres Mazali is this stunning, soccer-themed alarm clock from the late 1920’s. The clock commemorates Uruguay’s victory in the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympics, where La Celeste successfully defended their 1924 gold medal with a two-legged victory over rivals Argentina. This clock shows an image of three players contesting the ball on the clock’s face, with two of the players suited up in the sky-blue of Uruguay. Printed on the clock is “Uruguay campeon mundial 1928”. The back of the clock houses the five dials used to control the clock, which is not currently in working order. The clock face has a diameter of just under four inches, with the total height of the alarm clock measuring in at approximately 7.5 inches tall. This unique alarm clock is a fantastic piece of soccer history from Uruguay’s unprecedented era of dominance. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
