The Campeonatos Sudamericanos de Football, known now as the “Copa America”, is one of the most prestigious tournaments in world soccer. Uruguay are the most successful team in this historic tournament, the oldest international continental soccer competition in the world, having won the tournament 15 times to Argentina’s 14. Offered in this lot is a paperback book titled “Historia de los Campeonatos Sudamericanos de Football” by Carlos Rios. This historic tome was published in Montevideo in 1944, two years after Uruguay triumphed over Argentina at the Estadio Centenario in the 1942 edition of the tournament. The book is 111 pages long and features a section of photographs in the middle. This book is in good condition.
