The Jules Rimet Trophy, known at the time of the first World Cup as the “Victory Trophy”, is one of the most iconic objects in world soccer. Taking the shape of the winged Greek goddess of victory, Nike, the trophy was awarded to every World Cup winner from 1930 to 1970, until it was replaced at the 1974 World Cup by the current FIFA World Cup Trophy. Offered in this lot are two Art Deco-style perfume bottles in the shape of the Jules Rimet Trophy. Produced by Colonia Olimpica in Uruguay, these glass bottles were originally sold as perfume bottles, and they measure approximately 4.5 inches tall. One has been painted bronze, with the Colonia Olimpica label present at the bottom, while the second bottle is transparent glass. Please note that the tip of the clear glass bottle used to screw on the lid has broken off the bottle. These two glass bottles are tremendous mementos from the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930! These items come with a LOA confirming they are part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
