Led by Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito, the Boston Bruins finished the 1971-72 regular season with a record of 54-13-11, good for an NHL-best 119 points. Esposito led the team in goals (66) and total points (133), while Orr topped the Bruins in assists (80) to go along with his 37 goals, to total 117 points. In the net, the duo of Gerry Cheevers (27 wins-5 losses-8 ties; 2.50 goals against average) and Eddie Johnston (27-8-3; 2.71) was superb.  After showing they were the best team in the league during the regular season, the Bruins proved it again in the playoffs, going a combined 12-3 on their way to the Stanley Cup. Boston defeated the New York Rangers, four games to two, in the finals.

Presented here is a Balfour 10K gold 1972 Bobby Orr Stanley Cup championship salesman’s sample ring, featuring a grouping of individual, various size CZs on the face, with “BOSTON BRUINS WORLD CHAMPIONS” reading in relief lettering.
