The Los Angeles Angels were down by a pair of runs going into the bottom of the 9th inning of the April 15, 2014 game against Oakland. Kole Calhoun doubled to lead off the inning, when Mike Trout came to bat against Sean Doolittle. After taking two balls and strike, Trout smashed a big fly to deep left-center, tying the score and sending the game into extra innings. The shot was Trout’s 5th of the weeks-old season and he would hit 31 more on his way to winning the first of his MVP Awards. Unfortunately for the Angels, on this day Trout’s bottom of the 9th heroics were wasted when the Halos relievers gave up a run in the top of the 11th, giving Oakland the game. This is the bat used by Trout to hit that dramatic last of the 9th home run. The Old Hickory MT27* model bat shows awesome game use with a handle crack. The barrel is covered with ball marks and stitch impressions along with white leather ball scuffs and ink transfers. There are cleat imprints visible on all sides of the bat. The handle has been taped to enhance the grip and a moderate coat of pine tar applied. The Angels star has signed the barrel in silver marker with, “14/GU  MVP. HR #5 vs Oak  4-15-14.” This bat comes with MLB Authenticated hologram (EK821447) for the game use and a LOA from Anderson Authentics (3853) for the signature.
