The 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers once again rose to the top of the National League outlasting the St. Louis Cardinals by one game. Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson took home the National League MVP Award and pitcher Don Newcombe was the National League Rookie of the Year. 14 members of the National League pennant winning Dodgers have signed this Official National League Ford C. Frick baseball in bold blue ink. Manager Burt Shotton signed his name on the sweet spot (signed BE Shotton). The north panel has the signatures of Ed Miksis, Eileen Minner (wife of Paul Minner), Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, Gene Hermanski and Gil Hodges. The south panel has the signatures of John Jorgensen, Mike McCormick and Marv Rackley. The east panel with the Spalding stamp has the signature of Carl Erskine and the west panel has the signatures of Hall of Famer Pee Wee Reese, Preacher Roe, Billy Cox and Hall of Famer Roy Campanella. This ball is in good condition and displays toning. The signatures are bold and clear and “1949” is handwritten in black pen along the stitches on the south panel. This multi-signed baseball comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
