Defensive lineman Ernie Stautner player his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing in 173 games over a 14-year career. Stautner was given the highest honor a player can receive by being elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Stautner, along with Turk Edwards, Leo Nomellini and Joe Perry, were part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 1969. As one of the gifts each new member receives, a bust is carved to give to the player and one to the Hall in Canton, Ohio. Offered here is the official bust carved for and given to Ernie Stautner after his enshrinement in Canton. This bust is made of bronze and rests on a 6 x 9-inch base and is approximately 18 inches tall. Stautner is depicted looking slightly to the left. The initials “JW.” have been carved in the back. A wonderful Hall of Fame piece and this item comes with a LOA signed by Ernie Stautner stating that “This is my original bust given to me by the Pro Football Hall of Fame on my induction in 1969.”
