While 1951 is widely remembered for Bobby Thomson’s “Shot Heard ‘Round the World,” it is also notable as the last time the New York Giants and New York Yankees played a Subway Series. The Yankees defeated the cross-town rival Giants in six games to capture their 3rd straight of what would become a record five consecutive World Series titles. Offered here is an unmarked baseball with 23 signatures from the 1951 World Series Champion New York Yankees. All of the signatures have been signed in black pen and include Hall of Famers Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto and Johnny Mize, along with the notable signatures of Ralph Houk, Hank Bauer, Jerry Coleman, Ed Lopat, Gil McDougald, Gene Woodling, Joe Collins, Allie Reynolds, Vic Raschi and others. The ball is in good condition and the signatures are light, but still readable. This ball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (V12060). Please note that the signature of Joe DiMaggio has been deemed a clubhouse version by PSA/DNA.
