The 1947 All-Star game was held on July 8, 1947 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The American League team would go on to win the game 2-1. 25 members of the 1947 American League All-Star team have signed this Official National League Ford C. Frick baseball. Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams have signed their names on the sweet spot in blue pen. The north panel has the blue pen signatures of Dizzy Trout, Hall of Famer Early Wynn, George McQuinn, Hall of Famer Luke Appling, Stan Spence, Hall of Famer Joe Cronin and Jim Hegan (clubhouse). The south panel has the signatures of Bill Johnson, Joe Page, Buddy Lewis, Jack Kramer, Hall of Famers Lou Boudreau and Hal Newhouser. The east panel has “1947 All Star” inscribed in blue pen around the Spalding stamp and the signatures of Spec Shea (the winning pitcher), Rudy York, Hall of Famer Joe Gordon and Del Baker. The west panel has the signatures of Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr, Steve O’Neill, Hall of Famer George Kell, Pat Mullin, Buddy Rosar and Tom Henrich (clubhouse). The ball is in excellent condition, displaying only minor toning. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (Z42671). Please note that JSA has deemed the signatures of Tom Henrih and Jim Hegan clubhouse version.
