Offered is a 1989 Major League Baseball All-Star Game team signed bat with 15 signatures including Hall of Famers Tony Gwynn, Barry Larkin, John Smoltz and Andre Dawson. The signatures of National League players, all in blue marker on the Louisville Slugger bat, also include Von Hayes, Vince Coleman, Pedro Guererro, Tim Wallach, Tim Burke and Mitch Williams, among others. The bat is engraved with the logo of the 1989 All-Star Game above the Louisville Slugger brand, the legend “1989 All-Star Game Anaheim Stadium Anaheim, California July 11”, and the logos of the National League and Major League Baseball. The 1989 MLB All-Star Game is noted for being the first in All-Star Game history to include the designated hitter. The American League defeated the National League 5-3. The game is remembered for Bo Jackson’s monstrous lead-off home run to center field. Jackson was named the game's MVP. The game also featured former U. S. President and former baseball announcer Ronald Reagan sharing the NBC broadcast booth with Vin Scully for the first inning. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (BB14460).
