The former New York Yankees shortstop and long-time captain has signed his name in black marker on the barrel of the bat, between the black-engraved Major League Baseball “swingman” logo with ribbon, and the “Genuine Derek Jeter New York Yankees” engraving. Major League Baseball began using commemorative pink bats and other equipment every year since 2004 on Mother’s Day to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen “Going to Bat against Breast Cancer” campaign. This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (BB931295), which dates the signature to April 3, 2008.
