The New York Yankees secured the second of what would be a run of three straight World Series titles in 1999 with a sweep of the Atlanta Braves. New York, which won the American League East title with a record of 98-64, lost just three postseason games en route to its 25th World Series championship that year.
This spectacular size 52 Russell Athletic jersey, numbered 33 off 99, includes 26 Bronx Bombers’ signatures in blue ink, including the likes of Mariano Rivera with World Series MVP notation, David Cone with perfect game from July 18, 1999 noted, shortstop Derek Jeter and manager Joe Torre. Other signatures: Willie Randolph, Shane Spencer, Orlando Hernandez, Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Tino Martinez, Bernie Williams, Joe Girardi, Paul O’Neill, Mike Stanton, Chuck Knoblauch, Jose Cardenal, Ricky Ledee, Darryl Strawberry, Clay Bellinger, Jeff Nelson, Don Zimmer, Jim Leyritz and four others. The pinstriped jersey features a 1999 World Series patch on the right sleeve and the No. 5 with black band on the left sleeve honoring Yankees great Joe DiMaggio.
