This maple Louisville Slugger genuine R161 Gary Sheffield (Detroit Tigers) professional bat was used by Sheffield on 8/12/08 to hit his 492nd career HR. MLB was there to witness and document it, placing a MLB hologram (LH143271) on the bat. The bat is inscribed by Sheffield as follows "Gary Sheffield #3 Career Home run #492 vs. Toronto Blue Jays 8/12/08 Pitcher A.J. Burnett". Bat has tape on knob and shows good game use, especially one huge ball mark in particular we suspect was left by this home run ball. A great collectible from a 500 home run club member.
