Manager Joe Torre had plenty of firepower in his New York Yankees lineup during the 1999 season, including Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams and Tino Martinez. Jeter batted .349 with 102 runs batted in and 134 runs scored. Williams hit .342 with 115 RBIs, while Martinez hit 28 home runs and knocked in 105 runs. On the mound, five starting pitchers posted double-digit win totals and closer Mariano Rivera saved 45 games with a 1.83 ERA. The Yankees would finish the regular season with a 98-64 record, winning the AL East. In the postseason, the Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves (going a combined 11-1) to win the World Series, the 25th in team history.

Offered here is a Balfour 14K gold 1999 New York Yankees World Series championship ring, presented to Hall of Famer Whitey Ford, which features a large “NY” logo comprised of diamonds, while additional diamonds make up the face and perimeter. An approximate total of 99 diamonds appear, with one tiny chip missing, which was the case when this ring was sold back in 2008. The year 1999 is represented in relief work. One side of the ring features the team’s top hat and bat logo, with banners reading “THE CENTURY’S TEAM”. Below an image of the stadium facade shows “25TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP”. A Commissioner’s Trophy, set inside Yankee Stadium, centers the opposite shank, along with “25TH”, while “FORD” appears at the top and “TRADITION” at the bottom. The inside of the band is marked “Balfour © 14K”. This band is an approximate size 11 ½ and weighs approximately 47.0 grams. This ring comes with a LOA from Whitey Ford and a LOA from Joe Orlando from PSA/DNA.
