Even though it’s been 35 years since he retired from the game, Rod Carew’s numbers and awards still look amazing – lifetime .328 average, 7 batting crowns, Rookie of the Year Award, and AL MVP. During 1973 to 1975, the seasons this gamer dates to, Carew won the AL batting championship each year, led in on-base percentage twice, hits twice, collectively batted .358 and was a fixture on the AL All-Star team. The Hillerich & Bradsby C243 model bat displays excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks are visible on the left and back barrel along with cleat imprints. The handle has a heavy coat of pine tar. The knob is stamped with the model number “C243” and Carew has written “MAC” in black marker in honor of his first wife, Marilyn Ann Carew. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13201) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9 and a LOA from JSA for the signature.
