Defensive tackle Ernie Holmes wore this home black Pittsburgh Steelers jersey during the 1976 season in which he played in all 14 regular season games. The Steelers finished that season 10-4 and advanced to the AFC Championship Game, losing to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Oakland Raiders. This Dureen jersey was manufactured by Sand-Knit, no longer has the manufacturer’s tag and has Holmes number “63” sewn on in white tackle twill on the front, back and shoulders. A white patch with “76” in black is sewn on the bottom front left tail. The back of the jersey has “HOLMES” sewn on in yellow tackle twill on a matching black nameplate. The sleeves have the traditional Steelers’ yellow, white and black stripes with the yellow and white colors screen-printed on. This jersey displays heavy game use with numerous team repairs and loose threads on the numbers. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (200117F11) for the game use.
