Presented is a Wilt Chamberlain signature, “Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain” in blue marker on a 16 x 20-inch color action photo of the National Basketball Association legend in his Los Angeles Lakers uniform. Chamberlain is captured driving to the basket in his yellow #13 uniform in a game against the Detroit Pistons at the Forum in Inglewood, California. Chamberlain began his pro basketball career with the Harlem Globetrotters (1958-1959), then joined the Philadelphia and San Francisco Warriors from 1959 to 1965. The 7-foot 1-inch center won an NBA title with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1967 and was the NBA Finals MVP when he and the Lakers won the title in 1972. Chamberlain holds numerous NBA records in scoring and rebounding and is the only player to score 100 points in a single NBA game or average more than 40 and 50 points in a season. Chamberlain is the only player in NBA history to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game in a season, which he accomplished seven times. The signed photograph is mounted in a black paper matte with gold borders, with a 2 x 5-inch black metal plaque engraved in gold, “Wilt Chamberlain #13 Los Angeles Lakers”. The plaque has come loose from its mount below the photograph. The photo and plaque are displayed in a 25½ x 31½-inch black wood and glass frame. This item comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (C04248).
