Uruguay’s goalkeeper Andres Mazzali was presented with this silver medal after la celeste won the gold medal at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam. The longtime Nacional goalkeeper won his second Olympic gold after defeating Argentina in a two-legged gold medal series. Mazzali earned 19 caps for the Uruguayan National Soccer Team between 1924 and 1929. This offered medal is silver and features a high relief etching of a soccer scene on the front of the medal. The reverse side of the medal is etched with “A.U. de F / A / Andres Mazzali / Amsterdam / 1928”. This item comes with a letter of provenance.
