Offered in this lot are five telegraphs and letters from 1928 congratulating the Uruguayan soccer team on their gold medal in the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympics, the de facto global soccer championships before the World Cup’s inception in 1930. One of these telegraphs is from the Brazilian soccer club Vasco de Gama, while the letter in the lot is from the Association of Chilean Athletic Sports. These fascinating documents provide a glimpse into the sporting world of the roaring 1920’s. The documents come with a letter of provenance.
