New York Yankees ace Andy Pettitte wore this navy batting helmet during the 2012 MLB season. Pettitte made five plate appearances in 2012, recording one hit, a single, in four at-bats for a symmetrical .250/.250/.250 Triple Crown slash line. In his fifth plate appearance, Pettitte recorded a sacrifice bunt. Pettitte’s season on the hill went much smoother than his time at the plate, with the 1990 draftee recording a 5-4 record and 2.87 ERA in 12 starts. This offered batting helmet has the flap over the right ear and the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo applied to the front. Pettitte’s number “46”, since retired by the Yankees, is applied to the back of the helmet in white next to an MLB logo and is also on the top of the brim. This size 7 ¼ helmet comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK292988) authenticating the helmet as “team issued”, a common designation for game used items authenticated by Major League Baseball after the end of the regular season. Additionally, this helmet comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports (196076) attesting to its “game used” status.
