The complete set of 30 cards is presented. The famed "hunter and naturalist," U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, is pictured in vignette alongside various animal species in this very scarce and attractive series of candy cards. Although collectors have wondered for years about the proposed notion – as stated on each card's back – that "TR" actually shot camels, porcupines or kangaroos, the delicate "Trophies" collectibles are undeniably alluring. Blazing background color, highly detailed illustrations of the animal subjects, and vivid gold framing accents highlight the cards, which are seldom found as a full-set array. Overall GD/VG to EX with a few nicer, a few lesser. Seven cards have faint stampings on the backs (no paper loss).
