With offensive stars like Mike Schmidt, Andre Dawson, Darryl Strawberry, Rickey Henderson, Don Mattingly and Wade Boggs appearing, it was the pitching that stole the show in the 1987 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, played in Oakland. The game remained scoreless until the National League scratched out two runs in the 13th inning to defeat the American League, 2-0. Lee Smith - who pitched three scoreless innings - picked up the victory. Tim Raines was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after going 3-for-3 with two runs batted in.

Offered here is a Jostens 1987 Major League Baseball National League All-Star Game ring presented to New York Mets pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre. A beautiful, large blue colored stone features the MLB logo as “MAJOR LEAGUE ALL-STAR” reads around the bezel setting. One side displays the 1987 All-Star Game logo while the opposite side shows an image of the National League logo. “©JOSTENS QGT” is marked inside the band of this approximate size 10 ring. This item weighs approximately 22.8 grams. This comes with a LOA from Mel Stottlemyre.
