Cal Ripken Jr. – making his final All-Star appearance – homered and was named Most Valuable Player as the American League defeated the National League, 4-1, in the 2001 Major League Baseball All-Star Game played in Seattle. Derek Jeter and Magglio Ordonez also hit home runs for the winning squad. Starting pitchers Randy Johnson and Roger Clemens combined to throw four innings, allowing only one hit and no walks, with four strikeouts.
Offered here is a Jostens-manufactured 2001 Major League Baseball American League All-Star Game ring, presented to New York Yankees pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre. A round CZ sits inside a burst-design on the backdrop of a large green colored stone. “ALL STAR 2001” reads around the bezel setting. One side of the ring displays the “100 SEASONS” American League logo while the opposite side shows the 2001 MLB All-Star Game logo. Inside the band of this approximate size 11 ½ ring is marked “AUR©JOSTENS”. This item weighs an approximate 24.6 grams. This comes with a LOA from Mel Stottlemyre.
