After recently signing a long term deal, the marriage of the New York Mets and David Wright will likely continue to the end of his career. When he does finally retire, Wright will probably own the team record in every offensive category. This bat was used by Wright in 2007, his best year with the bat. Wright belted out 196 hits, slugged 42 doubles, hit 30 home runs and drove in 107 runs. His batting average, on base and slugging percentages were all career highs. You can tell by the tremendous use Wright did lots of damage with this 34", 33.5 ounce Marucci Bone Rubbed bat, which is uncracked. The barrel is engraved with "Handcrafted For David Wright DW5 Pro Model" and has the "Marucci" label in the middle. The barrel contains a multitude of ball marks and stitch impressions, plus several blue ink transfers. These are portions of the ball labels which are "lifted" off the ball upon contact. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. The date of manufacture "7/27/07", the length "4", the weight "2.5", and Wright's number "5" are engraved on the knob. This bat exhibits all the characteristics you would want in a game used bat with tremendous wear, solid stampings and the use of a potential Hall of Fame player from the best season of his career. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number 1B05791 and Graded GU 8.5.
