Pat Cannamela, a guard and linebacker for USC, was originally from New London, Connecticut before he moved out west to attend Ventura College in 1948 and 1949. USC took notice and offered Cannamela a scholarship and he finished out his college career with the Trojans in 1950 and 1951. Following his senior year in 1951, Cannamela was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game. While representing USC, Cannamela wore this blue jersey during the 1951 East-West Shrine Game played on December 29, 1951. This game was won by the East squad 15-14. This blue Dureen jersey features Cannamela’s number “42” sewn on the front and back in yellow tackle twill. The sleeves are ¾-length and have three yellow stripes. The jersey is a size 44 and was manufactured by Free-Minetti Athletic Equipment of San Francisco, whose tag and size flag are sewn on the inside back left tail. The jersey displays moderate game use with staining on the numbers. There is a handwritten inscription in black pen on the front “2” that reads “Pat Cannamela USC – ALL-AMERICAN 1951 Shrine Game WEST 12-29-51”. This jersey comes with a LOA from 100% Authentic for the game use.
