Presented is a collection of sports memorabilia from the late sports television broadcaster, Dick Enberg. Enberg, who died in 2017, was one of the top TV sports personalities for nearly 60 years, including play-by-play duties for various sports for several radio and television networks, including NBC (1975–1999), CBS (2000–2014), and ESPN (2004–2011), as well as for individual teams, such as UCLA Bruins basketball, Los Angeles Rams football, and California Angels and San Diego Padres baseball. The first item in this collection is Enberg’s baseball scorebook for California Angels games from July 24, 1969 through October 2, 1969. Enberg has inscribed the white pages in gray and black graphite pencil and blue ink. The 9 x 11 ½ -inch scorebook has black cardboard covers and black metal spiral binding. The second item in this collection is a 1980 Olympics NBC logo patch embroidered in gold, blue, red, green, blue, and orange thread on black cloth. The 3¼ x 4-inch cloth patch is mounted on black paper and displayed in a 6 ½ x 7-inch engraved gold metal and glass frame. The third item in this collection is a Dan Dierdorf inscription and signature in black marker on an 8 x 10-inch color photograph of Dierdorf and Enberg posed in the NFL on CBS broadcast booth, both holding glasses of red wine. The photo is displayed in an 8 x 10-inch black plastic and glass frame. The fourth item in this collection is a Steve Jones signature and inscription in blue marker on a 13 ½ x 20-inch yellow vinyl golf flag from the 18th hole of the 1996 US Open at Oakland Hills. Jones won his only major at the 1996 U.S. Open at Oakland Hills Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan.

The fifth item in this collection is a Tony Gwynn signature in black pen on the sweet spot of an Official National League William D. White baseball.  The sixth item in this collection is a Tony LaRussa signature and inscription on an Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball. The former Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals manager has signed his name in blue pen to the right of the OML Selig stamp, inscribed “10” above his signature and “HOF 2014” below his signature. The seventh item in this collection is a Wilson Super Bowl XXVIII Official Dick Enberg football, with the NBC Sports logo embossed on one panel in black. The eighth item in this collection is a multi-signed mini football commemorating the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame Class of 2011. The two white leather presentation panels feature the signatures of 2011 Rose Bowl Hall of Fame inductees Dick Enberg (who has inscribed “Oh My!” above his signature), George Fleming and Ron Dayne in black marker. The ninth item in this collection is a dual-signed mini-football from Super Bowl XXXII signed in silver marker by Paul Maguire and Phil Simms. The 10th item in this collection is a multi-signed Spalding Autograph model football with 55 signatures of various high school football players in black, blue and brown pen.

The 11th item in this collection is a glass and Lucite award from the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation. The 2½ x 5½ x 10½-inch award features large clear and blue flames in a black stone base, engraved “Dick Schaap Memorial Award for Excellence in Media Richard Alan “Dick” Enberg, PH.D. June 12, 2017”. The 12th item in this collection is a multi-signed copy of the NBC Sports Media Information guide for Super Bowl XXX, featuring the signatures of the broadcast team, Paul Maguire, Dick Enberg and Phil Simms, all in black marker. The trio have signed over a color photo of the group on the front cover of the 5½ x 9½ -inch paper book. The 13th item in this collection is a multi-signed copy of the Pittsburgh Steelers 1995 Media Guide, including the signatures (all in black marker) of Steelers players Dermontti Dawson, Levon Kirkland, Ernie Mills, Byron Morris, Willie Williams, Rod Woodson, Neil O’Donnell and Greg Lloyd. The 14th item in this collection is a white canvas jacket with the NBC Sports Barcelona ’92 Olympics logo on the left front chest. The 15th item in this collection is a multi-signed CBS Sports baseball cap with the signatures of broadcasters Dick Enberg, Billy Packer and Al McGuire in black marker on the white brim. The CBS Sports logo is embroidered in blue on the white adjustable cap. The cap is inscribed “Feb. 5, 2000 Connecticut at Mich. St.” in blue marker on the underside of the brim. The 16th item in this collection is a dual-signed NBC Sports adjustable cap with the signatures of John McEnroe and Tracy Austin in black marker on the front, over a purple embroidered NBC Sports logo on the white cap. The NBC “Peacock” logo is embroidered in yellow, orange, blue, white, purple, blue and green on both the front and right side of the cap. The 17th item in this collection is a Dennis Rodman signature in black marker on the back of a gray t-shirt with black and red silkscreened “Rebound” logo on the front, and the definition of the word including “RODMAN” on the back.

The 18th item in this collection is a navy-blue double-breasted blazer with the NBC Sports logo embroidered in white, gold, orange, red, purple, blue and green on the left front pocket. The 19th item in this collection is a well-used Wilson Official NFL Pete Rozelle football. The 20th item in this collection is an Ebbets Field Flannels reproduction navy-blue wool San Francisco Seals 1955 baseball cap, with “SF” embroidered on the front. The 21st item in this collection is a pair of Ebbets Field Flannels reproduction San Francisco Seals wool baseball pants with navy-blue pinstripes, a zipper fly, and navy-blue elastic and leather belt. The 22nd item in this collection is an Ebbets Field Flannels reproduction San Francisco Seals wool baseball jersey with navy-blue pinstripes and the navy-blue “Seals” embroidered on the left chest. The 23rd item in this collection is a pair of navy-blue and white tube socks. The 24th item in this collection is a 10½ x 13-inch brown wood and gold metal award plaque presented by the PGA Tour to NBC Sports for winning the 1999 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Live Sports Series and Outstanding Writing for their coverage of the PGA Tour. The award also offers “special congratulations to Dick Enberg, whose Emmy for “Outstanding Writing” recognizes only one of the many outstanding qualities he brings” to NBC Sports telecasts.

The 25th item in this collection is a 16 x 20-inch color reproduction of “NFL Gameday” magazine featuring Pittsburgh Steelers legend Jack Lambert. Lambert has inscribed “Hey Enberg - Thanks for taking care of my man Corning…For that, you get a big kiss next time I see you! (Don’t let Barbara see this)” in gold marker. The inscribed cover is displayed in a 16 x 20-inch silver metal and glass frame. The 26th item in this collection is a Candice Bergen signed and inscribed black and white photograph of Muhammad Ali. The award-winning actress and one-time amateur photographer inscribed “To Dick Enberg – Thank you for making it all so much nicer – from Candice Bergen Munich May 25, 1976” in black marker in the lower left corner of the 11 x 15-inch close-up portrait of Ali. (Bergen was hired by NBC to shoot a photo essay on the Ali-Richard Dunn fight in Munich, Germany on May 24, 1976 – Enberg was the announcer for the NBC broadcast, and describes his one date with Bergen during the fight week in his autobiography). The 27th item in this collection is a multi-signed baseball from the All-Star Pepsi Softball Game, with 13 signatures in black marker including Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Brock. The 28th item in this collection is an inscribed football helmet chin strap, with “1957 NFL Champs Detroit – 59 Cleve – 14 Briggs Stadium Gene Gedman” inscribed in blue pen. The 29th item in this collection is a fragment of a yellow tennis ball with an illegible signature in black marker. The 30th item in this collection is a group of media credentials and press passes issued to Dick Enberg from a variety of sports events, including the 2010 NCAA Basketball Championship First/Second Round games in New Orleans, 2013 Major League Baseball Spring Training, 2011 San Diego Padres season media pass, Super Bowl XLIV and the 2011 Australian Open. This entire lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
