This Louisville Slugger was used by Chipper Jones right at the start of his pro career that would last over two decades and end with a plaque in Cooperstown. Dating to circa 1992, this bat was likely used by Jones during his season with the Durham Bulls, the A farm club of the Atlanta Braves. Jones played 70 games, batting .277 with 4 home runs before he was promoted to the AA level. The Louisville Slugger R161 model bat shows moderate use with a crack in the top barrel that has been secured. There is slight checking from repeated ball contact on the right barrel along with ball marks and stitch impressions. Chipper’s number “10” is handwritten on both ends and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker. The bat comes with a copy of a circa 1992 Topps baseball card which depicts Jones holding a similar R161 model bat. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B06566) for the game use and a LOA from JSA (Y72249) for the signature.
