1993 marked the season Barry Bonds left Pittsburgh and reinvented himself as a home run machine in San Francisco. Bonds would hit .336 and smash 46 home runs in his first season with the Giants, winning his third NL MVP Award. This bat dates to the 1992-1993 seasons, likely ordered by Bonds when he was with the Pirates and taken west with him when he moved to Frisco. Resolution Photomatching has matched this bat to the one he is holding on the cover of a 1993 Giants Magazine. The Louisville Slugger H238 model bat shows tremendous game use with a cracked handle. The barrel displays many ball marks and scuffs plus ink transfers and bat rack paint streaks. The handle has a heavy coat of pine tar and the barrel and knob ends show abrasions from contact with the ground. A great gamer matched to a magazine cover from Bond’s first MVP season with the Giants. This bat comes with a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (426412) for photo matching this bat to the cover the April/May Giants Magazine.
