The World Football League (WFL) lasted two seasons (1974 and 1975) before collapsing under major financial duress. Interestingly, despite the fallout, the WFL was a significant trendsetter for the NFL in two respects. First, the WFL moved their goalposts to the back of the end zone before their long-established counterpart followed suit, and second, the WFL incorporated an "action point" instead of an extra point—the precursor to today's two-point conversion. Offered here is a referee worn jersey from the defunct WFL from 1974 season. This jersey was manufactured by Sand-Knit and is a size Large (42-44) and has white, gold and blue vertical stripes. There is a blue dress-shirt-style collar with a partial zipper-down front and a pocket on the upper left chest with the “WORLD FOOTBALL LEAGUE” logo patch. The back has “29” sewn on in blue tackle twill on a square white tackle twill backing. The inside collar has the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the WORLD FOOTBALL LEAGUE” and “Sand-Knit SIZE LARGE (42-44) tags. This item comes with a LOA from PM&G for the use.
