It didn’t take Hall of Famer and Yankees’ legend Mickey Mantle to reach the 200 home run plateau. Mantle blasted his 200th career home run off Hall of Famer Jim Bunning of the Detroit Tigers on July 26, 1957 in the bottom of the ninth inning of a 3-2 Tigers’ victory. Presented here is a framed display that has the official certificate presented to Mantle for reaching that milestone mark. The certificate has “200 HOME RUN CLUB” on the top with the American League logo on the upper left corner and the National League logo on the upper right corner. Printed below is “THE AMERICAN AND NATIONAL LEAUGES OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL certify that Mickey Mantle of The New York Yankees hit the 200th Home Run of his Major League Career at Yankee Stadium, New York on July 26, 1957 to become the 45th player in history to achieve this distinction. This has been signed by Hall of Famers Joe Cronin, who was the President of the American League and Warren Giles, who was the President of the National League. This certificate has been matted in a light blue and this display also features a black and white photo of Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and Mantle in full uniform, with Berra and Mantle holding their certificates. The bottom of this display has images of Panini Eternal’s Mantle 1957 Goes Deep for 200th Career Home Run card, an Upper Deck Authenticated Salutes Mickey Mantle Limited Edition 1994 card and an Upper Deck Mickey Mantle 7/26/57 – Mantle Hits His 200h Career Home Run card. This certificate comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AH02449) for the signatures.
