For the second time since their founding as a National League expansion team in 1962, the New York Mets claimed the World Championship in 1986. Unlike the dark horse “Miracle Mets” of 1969, however, the 1986 version was an indisputably strong team that posted a 108-54 record during the regular season, defeated the upstart Houston Astros in the NLCS in a hard fought six-game series and then went on to defeat the Boston Red Sox in a memorable seven-game Fall Classic.

21 members of that historic Mets team have signed this Official Ball 1986 World Series Peter Ueberoth stamped baseball. All of the signatures on this ball have been signed in bold blue pen and include Hall of Famer Gary Carter, Darryl Strawberry, Davey Johnson, Lenny Dykstra, Mel Stottlemyre, World Series MVP Ray Knight, Dwight Gooden, Wally Backman, Rick Aguilera, Ron Darling, Sid Fernandez, Keith Hernandez, Mookie Wilson, Kevin Elster, Howard Johnson, Tim Teufel, Ed Hearn, Bud Harrelson, Roger McDowell, Lee Mazzilli and Bobby Grich. This ball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AH87353).
