Hall of Famer Tom Seaver led the New York Mets to two World Series appearances in 1969 and 1973 and was one of the catalysts for the “Miracle Mets” team of 1969 that shocked the world after defeating the heavily favored Baltimore Orioles in the Fall Classic. After the infamous trade that sent Seaver to Cincinnati Reds in the middle of the 1977 season, Seaver returned to the Mets for the 1983 season. This offered Mets’ all-blue jacket was worn by Seaver during the 1977 season before his trade or during his return to the team in 1983. The jacket, based on the tagging, has been dated to the 1977-83 seasons. The jacket is an approximate size XL, with the actual size tag having been removed. The jacket was made by ALADEN of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, who provided the Mets’ jackets circa 1977-83 and whose tag is sewn on the inside back collar. The Mets’ interlocking “NY” logo is chenille-stitched on the upper left chest and the Mets’ skyline logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. There is a button-down front with two pockets and the waist, collar and sleeve ends have orange and white stripes. Seaver’s number “41” is handwritten below the ALADEN tag on the interior. This jacket displays light use and comes with a LOA from 100% Authentic for the use.
