Presented here is an extremely rare and original vintage pennant from the 1955 World Series. This Fall Classic saw yet another matchup between the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers, and was the fifth World Series between the two New York squads in nine seasons. Displaying rich colors, with bright graphics and lettering, this pennant features images of both Yankee Stadium and Ebbets Field, as well as the white text “MGR. Casey Stengel” and “MGR. Walter Alston”. “New York Yankees / Brooklyn Dodgers” is printed in white on the pennant, as well as a 1955 World Series logo. The wide end of this pennant has an ornate, tasseled design and is roughly 30 inches long and 14 inches at its widest point. This pennant is in excellent, near-mint condition, and is a beautiful collectible. The Dodgers shocked the world by winning their first and only World Series title in Brooklyn before moving to Los Angeles, knocking off the hated Yankees in a nail biting seven game series. Dodgers’ pitcher Johnny Podres clinched the series with a masterful complete game shutout in Game 7 to earn the inaugural World Series MVP award.
