The core group of shortstop Derek Jeter (.339 average, 119 runs scored), center fielder Bernie Williams (.307 average, 30 home runs, 121 runs batted in), catcher Jorge Posada (.287 average, 28 home runs), starting pitcher Andy Pettitte (19-9 record) and reliever Mariano Rivera (36 saves, 2.85 ERA) led the New York Yankees to an AL East division title during the 2000 regular season. Postseason success once again followed, as victories over the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and New York Mets propelled the Yankees to their third straight World Series title.

Offered here is a 2000 New York Yankees World Series championship ring presented to Jeff Nelson, who went 8-4 during the season with a 2.45 ERA. This ring features a large “NY” logo, covered with diamonds, set on a blue colored stone. Additional diamonds appear on the face and outer perimeter, while “WORLD CHAMPIONS 2000” reads in relief work. One side of the ring is centered by the Commissioner’s Trophy (and “26TH”) rising from Yankee Stadium, with a New York skyline in the background. The name “NELSON” appears at the top and the word “TRADITION” at the bottom. On the opposite side is a Yankees team logo, along with a stadium façade and the word “PRIDE”. Inside the band of this approximate size 12 ring is engraved “Jeff Nelson” and it also includes a “Balfour©14K” mark. This ring weighs approximately 51.5 grams and includes the wooden presentation box declaring “NEW YORK YANKEES 2000 WORLD CHAMPIONS”. This comes with a LOA from Jeff Nelson.
