Hall of Fame catcher Bill Dickey was a mentor to fellow Hall of Famer Yogi Berra and Berra’s catching replacement Elston Howard. Dickey was a coach under Casey Stengel during the 1953 season in which the Yankees won the World Series. Dickey and Berra both shared the number “8” and both Dickey and Berra’s number have been retired by Yankees. This offered Hillerich & Bradsby Fungo bat was used by Dickey during the 1953 season. This bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. Dickey used this Fungo bat during batting practice for infield ground balls and outfield fly balls. “GENUINE YANKEES LOUSIVILLE SLUGGER” is stamped on the barrel, which also displays several ball marks and other abrasion marks. The bat is 37 inches long and weighs 26 ounces. Dickey has signed his name twice, both in blue marker on the barrel. This comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18710) for the use and a LOA from JSA for the signatures.
