Offered here is a collection of five game used bats from members the inaugural season of the Houston Colt .45’s who would later become the Houston Astros. The first bat is a Hillerich & Bradsby S2 model bat used by Merritt Ranew with a labeling period of 1961-63. This bat displays heavy game use and is un-cracked. The final bat was used by Hal Smith and has a labeling period of 1961-63. This bat is a Hillerich & Bradsby M117 model that moderate to heavy game use and has a crack on the handle.
