Chicago Cubs right fielder Sammy Sosa wore this gray Cubs road jersey during his historic 2001 season. Sosa clubbed 64 homers in 2001, while leading all of baseball in RBI (160), runs (146), total bases (425), and intentional walks (37). The Dominican slugger set a career-high with a .328 batting average as the Cubs won 88 games under skipper Don Baylor. Sosa finished his career with 609 homers, 1,667 RBI, and seven All-Star bids.
This offered Cubs road jersey is a gray button-down, with “CHICAGO” sewn across the chest in blue and white tackle twill. Sosa’s number “21” is sewn on the chest and back in red and white tackle twill, while “SOSA” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue and white tackle twill. A blue and white “C” patch is sewn on the right sleeve while a Cubs logo patch and a blue Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve. A Majestic tag with an attached size “48” flag is sewn on the front left tail. A “21 48 01 S4” swatch is sewn on the back inside collar. Sosa has signed the back of the jersey in blue marker.
