Hall of Famer Dave Winfield joined the New York Yankees in 1981 as mercurial owner George Steinbrenner continued spend top dollar for free agents. Winfield was the big signing for the Yankees and big outfielder had arguably his best season in pinstripes in 1982, clubbing a career-high 37 home runs. Winfield wore this Wilson size 44 knit jersey during the 1982 season and this button-down home pinstripe jersey has the traditional interlocking “NY” and Winfield’s number “31” sewn on in navy tackle twill. A team tag is sewn on in a cotton/nylon fabric swatch on the inside back collar with “Winfield 82 1”. The Wilson size 44 tag is sewn on the left-center tail. The jersey shows moderate use with some small stains and comes with a LOA from MEARS for the game use, who have graded this jersey a perfect A10.
