One of baseball’s most mysterious and prodigious sluggers is represented in Arthur Miller’s original baseball artwork “A Baseball Card That Never Was: Josh Gibson (1948 Leaf)”. This artwork is a mixed media on canvas; specifically, the mixed media is acrylic enamel house paint, oil pastels and colored pencils and sealed with varnish. Gibson, the famous catcher for the Homestead Grays and Pittsburgh Crawfords, is shown in the follow through of his powerful swing in front of a yellow background. “JOSH GIBSON” is applied in white lettering in front of a red background on the bottom of the artwork. Miller has signed the artwork twice, once on the front and once on the back. Written on the back of this 25 x 30-inch artwork is “A Baseball Card That Never Was: Josh Gibson (1948 Leaf)” and “2020”. This artwork is an incredible display piece for any baseball lover!
